The US CFTC has issued an exemption, allowing designated contract markets to convert some contracts into perpetual contracts
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has issued a "no action" exemption, allowing designated contract markets (DCMs) to convert some existing and substantially perpetual contracts with perpetual contract characteristics into "genuine" perpetual contracts without expiration dates. The exemption is valid until October 20th, and exchanges must seek the opinions of holders of open positions before conversion, provide advance notice and exit opportunities, and provide risk disclosure.
