Li Yiyuan: The shareholding restrictions on virtual asset exchanges aim to strengthen public responsibility and institutionalized operations

--

The Chairman of the Financial Commission of South Korea, Lee Yi won, stated that the provisions of the ongoing Digital Asset Basic Law regarding restrictions on the shareholding of major shareholders in virtual asset exchanges are not directed by specific individuals, but are based on considerations of higher public responsibilities that exchanges will have to bear after institutionalization. Li Yiyuan pointed out in the National Government Supervision of the Financial Affairs Committee of the National Assembly that after the implementation of the Basic Law on Digital Assets in the future, exchanges will shift to a licensed operating model and need to have public and responsible nature that matches their infrastructure attributes.
